Mass-Marketing Fraud: A Threat Assessment |

An International Mass-Marketing Fraud Working Group report recommends
that, to counter the threat of mass-marketing fraud effectively,
investigative, law enforcement and regulatory authorities in multiple
countries will need to pursue five approaches in close co-ordination.
These involve: expanding their capability to gather and share
intelligence on all aspects of mass-marketing fraud schemes; developing
capacities for disruption of the operations of mass-marketing fraud
schemes through lawful means; expanding public awareness and education
programs to help individuals and businesses take action to minimise
losses; developing effective solutions to more promptly identify and
support victims of mass-marketing fraud; and developing and expanding
coordinated efforts to use enforcement powers against major
mass-marketing fraud schemes. |
